Basilica of Bom Jesus, the church located in old Goa is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The name of the Church, Bom Jesus basically means "Good Jesus", the name used for Jesus when he was an infant.
It is one of the oldest churches in Goa which is famous for the preserved mortal remains of St. Francis Xavier. It is believed that when the body of the saint was being transferred to Goa, the saint's body was as fresh as the day it was buried. The mausoleum was designed by the 17th-century Florentine sculptor Giovanni Battista Foggini and took ten years to complete. The floor of the church is made of pure white marble, decorated with semi-precious stones.
