A Romantic Palace in the middle of Lake Pichola
The Lake Palace is located on the Jag Niwas Island in the middle of the Pichola Lake in Udaipur, Rajasthan, India. It was built by Maharana Jagat Singh II in 1743 as a Royal Summer Palace, and was initially called as Jag Niwas.
The Lake Palace is spread out in an area of 1.5 hectare of the total island and is set against the background of Aravalli Mountains on one side of the lake, and towering castles on the other.
The Lake Palace is built of white marble and is one of the most beautiful palaces in India. It has a series of courtyards that are aligned with numerous columns, terraces and gardens. It also has several rooms by the name of Bada Mahal, Ajjan Niwas, Phool Mahal, etc. In the last few years, this palace has been transformed into a luxury hotel that is managed by Taj Group of Hotels. The Lake Palace has the facility of a 24 hour Business centre, swimming pool, restaurant and bar. It is a perfect and the most romantic place to lighten up and relax in the middle of Lake Pichola.

The nearest airport as well as railway station is at Udaipur. After reaching Pichola Lake, you need to hire a boat to reach the Lake Palace.
